Showing up, sharing wins, and supercharging the week

Last week was one of those glorious chaos-meets-connection weeks — the kind that reminds me why I love what I do.

Brisbane Supercharged: Bookies Unite ⚡️

I kicked things off in Brisbane as one of the bookkeeping professionals supporting the Xero Grow Your Bookkeeping Practice session. The energy in the room was electric — a full house of bookkeepers ready to learn, share, and supercharge their practices.

Xero’s content was spot on; practical, future-focused, and full of real-world tools to help us streamline workflows and deliver more value. From AI tips to strategic planning, it was all about building a future-ready firm. And the best part? The conversations.

I always forget how much I get from chatting to fellow bookies. We’re all facing similar challenges — tech adoption, client expectations, pricing models — and there’s something magic about swapping stories and sharing solutions. A problem shared really is a problem halved.

If you missed Brisbane, don’t worry — Melbourne is up next TOMORROW (3/3/26) and I’ll be there! Come say hi so I know at least one person reads this blog. 😉

Planning with Purpose (and Susie!) 📈

The second half of the week was all about quarterly planning. I had my regular strategy session with the fabulous Susie Curnow from Topiary Business Solutions. We do this every quarter — celebrate our wins, set our targets, and get out of the office to focus on the business nuts and bolts.

It’s one of my favourite rituals. There’s something powerful about stepping back, reflecting, and setting fresh intentions. Plus, Susie brings snacks. Planning + snacks = winning combo.

Leading Change with Xbert 💡

To top it all off, I joined the panel for an Xbert webinar on leading change during tech adoption. This topic is close to my heart — because let’s be honest, a tech stack is expensive. If you’re investing in tools, you want to make sure your team is set up to succeed.

The webinar covered practical strategies for onboarding, training, and getting buy-in from your team. It was all about making change stick and helping your people thrive.

Last week reminded me that showing up matters. Whether it’s at an event, on a webinar, or in a planning session — connection fuels growth. So, here’s to more chats, more learning, and more shared wins.

See you in Melbourne!
